Preserve Your Paint. Protect Your Investment
New Zealand roads are harder on your paint than most people realise. Stone chips on the motorway, road tar, bird droppings, UV - it adds up fast, and once the damage is done, it's expensive to fix.
Paint protection film is a clear, high-durability film that bonds directly to your paint, absorbing impact and shielding against the kind of daily wear that gradually degrades unprotected paint. It's virtually invisible when installed correctly, preserves your original finish, and keeps your vehicle looking the way it should.
What sets us apart is how we install Paint Protection Film. Every job at The Wrap Shop starts with precision cutting software, then gets adjusted & modified then finished by hand to suit your exact vehicle. This means every possible edge and corner gets tucked & wrapped which is the only way to get a result that's genuinely invisible. It takes more time, but the difference shows.
We offer a range of PPF options to suit different vehicles and budgets. Our ultra high gloss finish preserves your car’s original look, but we also offer satin, matte and coloured films if you want to change the appearance of your vehicle at the same time as protecting it! Our most premium film carries a 12-year warranty covering yellowing, bubbling, and delamination.

PPF vs Ceramic Coating - What's the Difference?
These two products are often grouped together under "paint protection," but they work very differently and protect against different things. Knowing the difference matters, especially if stone chip protection is what you're actually after.
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that cures into a very thin hard layer over your paint. It enhances gloss, repels water and contaminants, and makes your car easier to clean. It's a great product - but at one to two microns thick, it has no physical ability to absorb impact. A stone chip will go straight through it.
Paint protection film is a physical barrier - typically around 200 microns of thermoplastic urethane - that sits on top of your paint and absorbs impact before it can reach the surface. It's what actually stops rock chips, and it's the only product that does.
If you park your car in a garage and rarely drive on open roads, ceramic coating alone might be enough. If you're on Auckland motorways regularly, heading out of the city on the weekends, or you've just bought something you want to keep in pristine condition, PPF is the protection that will actually make a difference.
The good news is they're not mutually exclusive. Many of our customers opt for PPF on the high-risk areas - bonnet, front bumper, mirrors and ceramic coating over the top for added gloss and easier maintenance across the whole vehicle.
FAQs
-
Yes, paint protection film is your best line of defence for your paint. Ceramic coating improves gloss and repels contaminants, but it has no physical thickness to absorb impact. PPF is a physical barrier that takes the hit before it reaches your paint.
-
It depends on the film. Lower quality films can yellow, which is why the grade of product matters. Our most premium PROFILM carries a 12-year warranty that covers yellowing, bubbling, and delamination.
-
We offer gloss, satin, matte and coloured PPF films. Gloss is the most popular and preserves your paint's original look. Satin & matte take your original colour and give it a unique finish, and coloured films let you change the appearance of your vehicle while protecting it at the same time.
-
Yes, and many of our customers do. The ceramic coating bonds to the top of the film, adding extra hydrophobic properties while the PPF handles the physical protection underneath. It's the most complete protection you can put on a vehicle.
